Have you ever permitted a person who was super qualified on the application but ended up being a total disappointment as a tenant?

@Nathan Gesner, the joys of property management!

It's tough, but I've had people who screened great and were awful to deal with on a personal level. On the other hand, I've had places that were vacant longer than I liked, so I made exceptions and have worked with felons and people with poor credit that don't meet my traditional criteria. Honestly, some of those exceptions have been some of my best tenants. I have a felon that I work with now who is fantastic, and another who has since moved out but is now my go-to plumber. You just don't know. It's actually been great for me to learn not to judge a book by it's cover. You do the best with the tools you have and learn along the way.
