My husband and I have funds to invest and we would really love to get into real estate investing for passive income. Our goal is to retire my husband in five years. He has a 4-hour commute every day (that is if there are no problems) and we would like to change that for him! We have a pretty sizable amount to invest and we are looking for the best way to use it to achieve this goal.

Welcome to BP!  You will certainly find lots of advice and connections here on the site.  I would suggest figuring out how to connect with local real estate investors first.  Pick their brain over coffee and find out who is achieving your goal or had done the same already.  Be patient!  If you have the funds to use then the right solution will present itself over time. Just don’t rush.  Best of luck to the both of you as you get started!
