Way to get involved in the Real Estate scene?

Hello, I’m located about an hour south of Pocatello, and am looking to get started. Can anyone point me in a good direction for mentorship/ deals/ ideas?

Hey Charles-

What are you looking to get started with ? Wholesaling, fix &flip, buy &hold.....there are a lot of ways to get started in real estate. I think the first thing would be determining what type of investor you want to be and going from there.

Real estate is a cut throat business, so if you are looking for a mentor...you can either pay for one ( I don’t recommend this route) or you can make yourself valuable to others who in turn will include you into their real estate circle.   Join an REIA and start networking see who the big players are in your area.

@Charles E Nielsen, being active on BP is a good start.  There are local forums, strategies forums, etc.  But also, the entire banner menu outlines what you need.  Forums/Education/Network...  The network tab will show you upcoming networking events (most are virtual these days).  The education takes you to books/podcast/webinars.

But as Canesha mentioned, using meetup.com or searching for local Facebook groups helps too.  Like any business, it is who you know, so trying to meet people that are doing what you want to in some way, then ask them who you should reach out to, and keep expanding and growing you network.

Hi @Charles E Nielsen, I'm actually located in Pocatello.  I've only been in the game for a couple of years myself.  Started out with a Turn Key property and now transitioning into Multifamily.  We are currently looking in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Boise and Salt Lake markets. Are you looking to be a active investor or more on the passive side?
