I've been looking to buy land near Waipi'o Valley for a few years now to serve as a vacation rental. With the county's struggles with STVR permits/renewals getting cut by ~25% this year, does anyone have any insights on the proposed re-zoning of vacation nodes? The articles below mention the Volcano area specifically getting re-zoned to accommodate STRs since there aren't many hotels to serve tourists' needs.
