Adding parents to title on property after purchase? Help wanted..

David Czech
Posted

Can someone advise on the process of adding parents on a title to a house after time of purchase? If I have a property and would like to put parents name on it, in the event of something happening to me, how does that work? Would that make them responsible for mortgage as well if I can't continue making payments? Any help would be appreciated.

@David Czech

Why not create a trust and have them be the beneficiaries. Then you title name in the trust

If you put them on it and something happens to them, getting them off is not as easy. It’s easier to title property in a living trust and then have them be beneficiary and you have flexibility Later to always change that.
