I have been to a few membership only conference, but only two types of open RE conferences.  I find all to be motivating

MTR summit was liked by most of the attendees but I found it too concentrated on selling Jesse Vasquez’ mentoring and too monetized.

BPCon is very motivating and a far better value than MTR summit.   Way better selection of sessions.   A good/great vendor hall. Migrating to more targeting newbies which is negative from my perspective.   BPCon Yucatán was not organized well.   A pre-conference session that was sold out had less than 10 attendees show up.   The instructors almost matched the attendees.  Why?  I suspect it was in large part due to the poor organization.   I want to add I very much enjoyed this BPCon and the increased emphasis on networking.  Either San Diego or Yucatán was my favorite BPCon.  Orlando was my least favorite and I have not purchased tickets to BPCon Orlando 2, yet?

i have heard good things about IMN  but have not been personally just what some of my clients feedback.

the SF bay area investor clubs and LA investor clubs like Fibi are pretty strong for local event.

I typically go to conferences for networking and meeting new people, not for the actual content. Relationships are far more valuable

IMN is good because its not people selling or pitching their product. Far too many conferences nowadays are just glorified self promotion/marketing events where the speakers pay to play but get to pitch a product.

Investor weekend in okc was pretty solid

the first BP conference for us old guys still here was great. It seems like BP has really tilted towards the newbs, I'm not sure what their newer conferences look like, but it seems newbs are their big target maerket....

mrlandlord has a pretty good event

The 3 above events did not have too much selling and the admission was reasonable.

Oreia used to have s deal makers forum, which was really good... the rest of the conference was too salesly I felt, but the dmf was worth the trip.

I've been looking for a good new rei conference for people that have been at it awhole.. not too many people had much to say when I posted about this 2 years ago, I hope some more ideas arrive in the thread.

Haven't been to a ton myself, but I've got a local one coming up soon (a real estate investors expo) that I'm looking forward to — feels like there's real value in the in-person, regional events too, not just the big national ones. Curious how you weigh a big conference like BiggerPockets' own vs. something smaller and local — different value, or does one usually win out for you?
