Photo sequencing is the cheapest listing fix nobody makes

A pattern I keep running into on listing audits: the photos are fine. Sharp, well lit, nothing wrong with them. They're just in the wrong order.

Hosts upload in walkthrough order — front door, living room, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, then the deck or the view at the end. But search results show one thumbnail, and the listing page shows roughly three images above the fold. If the reason someone would book your place is image nine, it doesn't exist as far as most guests are concerned.

Three consequences I see downstream:

1. Lower click-through from search, because the thumbnail is competing against a neighbor's hero shot.

2. Fewer saves and shares, because nothing in the first frames is worth sending to a friend.

3. Rate cuts. Hosts read soft demand as a pricing problem and discount, when the actual problem was sequencing.

The fix costs nothing: lead with the single most distinctive image, follow with two that establish space and quality, then let the walkthrough happen. Same photos, same house, same rate.

Curious whether anyone here has A/B'd photo order and tracked the change in views-to-book.
