Hello from Humboldt County: Rentals, Real Estate, and Community
Hi everyone! I’m Tai, a Humboldt County native who recently returned home after more than a decade in Portland, Oregon.
I originally left Humboldt to attend school in Santa Barbara and then San Luis Obispo. While living in Portland, my work in commercial and multifamily real estate sparked a genuine passion for rental housing and real estate investing. I came to believe that well-operated rental properties can create lasting value for investors, residents, and communities.
Today, I work in business development for a local property management company, where I spend a lot of time talking with property owners and learning what makes rental investments successful over the long term.
I joined BiggerPockets to learn, exchange ideas, and build genuine relationships with thoughtful investors. I’m especially interested in multifamily properties, long-term rentals, smaller real estate markets, and the factors investors consider when evaluating an unfamiliar area.
Humboldt is a special place, with the redwoods, rivers, coastline, strong local character, and tremendous potential for thoughtful growth. I’m excited to be home and to become more involved in its real estate community.
For those of you who invest in smaller markets or purchase property from a distance: What do you want to understand first before seriously considering a new market?
I’d love to connect with Northern California investors, multifamily owners, and anyone curious about Humboldt County. If you’re local or passing through, I’m always happy to meet for coffee!
