Question

Most of us use AI to check out work, generate answers and general queries.

I've been actively experimenting with a combination of creating a second brain of my RE work (e.g. deals, statuses, analysis etc) and utilizing AI to create systems for repeatable workflows (e.g. lead qualification, identifying properties that fit my clients' buy-boxes etc).

imo, the second brain has been life-changing and has altered the way I work this profession (and even day to day life). The ability to have a corpus of information stored locally (and backed up to cloud) and then be able to instantaneously retrieve it by querying AI and further build on it has increased by productivity. More importantly, it has increased my vision of the kinds of additional value I can bring to my clients.

It has helped me to front-load a lot of the checks, analysis and due diligence that I would have to otherwise do manually which really is the boring and mundane part of RE work so that I can focus on building relationship with my clients.

I wonder if this has been your experience and if you have seen similar results.

I'm interested to hear if you have experimented with AI beyond the standard query and built systems like the one I've described. And how has that impacted the way you work?

This is great! BTW we're adding AI tools to BiggerPockets to help with analysis and keeping track of your deals, among many other goodies. First among these is our MCP connectors so you don't even have to leave your Claude/ChatGPT, etc session in order to do research, run numbers, track deals, etc.

It’s been life changing for marketing and content creation. I can do super interesting data analysis and share with clients/other investors. It’s also helped me get better at CMA’s /estimating ARV. I can dump 3 years of sales in a particular sub market into Claude and get solid adjustment factors, my CMAs are very dialed-in.

not too far into it, but mostly have used it to automate things like filling out templates, lease comparisons to LOI's as a check against my parameters, drafting invoices, and some basic data sorting we traditionally had to do manually to get it from our data supplier into our GIS system sitewise.  Don't have it doing any kind of comms or anything, looking more to have it do the shiz that feels heavy to me to give me more mental capacity to get on the phone.

I asked AI to give me the amount of principal paid on a loan of $428,231 that was paid on time for 81 months of a 30 year term at 7% interest it gave me an answer of of some $527,896 of PRINCIPAL paid. When I said "you're telling me that after 81 months, more was paid on the principal than originally existed - it recalculated and it said "good catch"  AI said "I used the wrong formula and I had the minus sign placed in the wrong location.

I wanted to tell it to take the rest of the year off and go sit in a corner somewhere far from me.

Yea its been a huge push since the summer to make sure we're meeting investors where they're at with technology, and MCP seems to be one of those things.

I’ve had a similar takeaway while building workflow systems for real estate. Having deals, follow-ups, tasks, and client information structured in one place makes a huge difference. The biggest benefit for me is reducing the mental load of remembering what needs attention next.

It has helped the most for me in the legal process.  I've been able to navigate the eviction process fully with AI's help all the way from noticing, to the possession hearing, to a successful judgement.I am a software engineer so I also build my own custom software, the coolest one I've built is for analyzing tax sales to find deals

Yea you gotta tell the AI to use a real math library and write code for calculations, it's never going to get the numbers right otherwise.
