Newbie from metro-Detroit/Ann Arbor area

My name is Dru, I'm a 24 year old beginner to investing in real estate. I have read a lot of books and spent a lot of time listening to the podcasts on this site and I'm ready to make my first move. My end-game goal is to become financially independent. My short term goal is to get my first deal. I first heard of bigger pockets from a referral from a user at reddit.com/r/realestate

I'm under contract on my first deal right now. Just got the inspection done and I'm negotiating based on those results. I'll write more about it in a success story when I close at the end of the month.
