Carlton van Putten is the CEO of PayRent.com, an online rent payment and property management platform for real estate entrepreneurs. He has over 25 years of experience as a software and payments executive with a keen focus on high growth and startup tech companies. In addition to running a fast-growth fintech company, he regularly mentors at tech incubators around the Salt Lake City area and contributes to numerous blogs.

Experience
Carlton began his career as a product manager at Apple Computer, Inc. in Silicon Valley. Since then, he has taken on Senior Executive roles nationwide, living in Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, and, most recently, Salt Lake City.

Over the last 25+ years, Carlton has held various sales, marketing, and operational roles for small to mid-sized companies. But he has found his passion in taking a company from early-stage proof of concept to scale. With his latest endeavor, Carlton is looking to bring rent payments out of the dark ages of checks and cash by building a platform that helps foster a positive and productive relationship between landlords and renters. He is relentlessly focused on making rent collection completely hassle-free for both parties.

Carlton has also been an angel investor in disruptive technology startups. As a real estate investor, he has been buying and rehabilitating single-family residences for over 20 years in southern California.
