1 Discuss with Agents’ Recent Customers

Ask agents to give a list of what they have listed and sold in the past year, with contact details.

With past customers, “I’d like to know what the asking amount was and then what the sales amount was,” says  , Real Estate Agent “The Real Estate Game: The Smart Guide to Determination-Making and Investment.”

If you are selling, ask whether the previous homes were similar to yours in amount, place and other key features, he Says. You want someone who is an expert in what you are selling.

Another good question for dealers to ask: How long were the homes on the current market?

2. Check for A Permit & Disciplinary Activities

The states permit and discipline real estate brokers. Check with your state’s regulating body to find out whether a broker you are considering is registered and or has any disciplinary actions or problems. That details may be posted online.

3. Select An Adviser With The Right Experience

Doctors have the expertise, and so do real estate brokers, many of whom get extra training in particular places. The alphabet soup after a broker’s name can show that the agent has taken classes in a specific area of real estate sales. Some of the designations include:

CRS (Certified Residential Specialist): Completed additional training in handling residential l real estate.

ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative): Completed additional education in representing buyers in transactions.

SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist): Completed training aimed at helping buyers and sellers in the 50-plus age range.

If the agent calling herself a Realtor with a capital R, that indicates he’s a member of the NAR.

“The most important thing you get (by hiring a Realtor) is a broker who officially assures to support the code of ethics,”   says.

4. Find out How Skilled an Agent is

A state certification authority often can tell you how long an adviser has been in business. Or, you can ask the broker directly.

Finally, what you want is someone who is definitely engaged in a specific area and price range. You will want a broker to demonstrate knowledge of the location and homes in your price range.

5. Look At The Adviser’s Current Listings

Check out a Real Estate agent’s listings online, says Matt Lotze of the Consumer Federation of The USA. Places to look consist of the real estate agent’s website and websites such as Realtor.com, which offer a retrievable online database of houses in the multiple listing services.
