Real Estate Investing, an experience

I have been working at becoming a successful real estate investor. It seems that it takes so much. The funny part is that so much really isn't very much.

Listen more than you speak.

Provide assistance when possible and where needed.

Don't let fear get in the way.

Listen with your ears, eyes and mind. Listening is more than hearing. Take in everything you can learn from every source you can. This will be from BiggerPockets forums, podcasts (my favorite), other investors, real estate classes that you may find at your local community college or trade school, any speakers at your local REIA, reading books (listening with your eyes) and even from sellers of properties.  Listening to sellers is interesting.....sometimes, they tell you how to buy the property from them at wonderful discounts (it isn't always about the money).

Providing assistance makes you invaluable. You may never know if you are in the right place at the right time, but if you are available and allow yourself to be a solution wonderful things may come about. Everyone for sure knows someone and they themselves may be exactly who you are looking for to get your next deal. In a nutshell, Network and give of yourself (not necessarily looking to receive).

FEAR! It is a roadblock.... Don't let it stop you. Don't run into it either. Go around it! We all have a level of risk that we are willing to take. Find how far you can go and then practice getting to the next level. By practice I mean, just take the next step. If you are unsure of what the next step is, I know there is an article here on Bigger Pockets that will tell you or another member will nudge you in the right direction to find out what it is.

I just got over one of my fears (hurdles). I learned that I don't have to get every offer accepted. In listening to Brandon (BP) on his most recent webinar, it was reinforced that it is okay to be embarrassed by your offer. As we make our profits when we buy, do your research, analyze and make the offer. Make the offers regularly.

The time for each one that is persistent will come!
