Making Calls, Sending Emails, and Scrubbing

Today was an office day.  I went to my dad's office building, where there is an empty room, and made it my office today.  I've been there a few times, but today was different.  Normally, I use my laptop while I'm there, and just do everything from it.  My laptop is over 5 years old, and is on its last life - I don't know how it lasted all through college.

Today, however, I noticed a computer under the desk, and an un-plugged monitor at the far end of the desk.  So, I did what anyone would have done, and I hooked it all up to see if it had any life in it.  After I found a keyboard and mouse, figured out the password to the computer, and dusted off the dust, it began to run!  The only catch was, it is an OLD computer!  To date it, its excel was set in 2003.  Wow.

The coolest part about this little adventure is that it worked!  I'm able to check emails, and get onto google Drive and what not with no problem.  Bam!  Now I have two computers.  Well, it's really like having one good computer, because its two old computers fighting the same cause.  With that said, it seems to help me get my work done faster - plus, I enjoy the bigger screen of the old monitor.

But, this is about real estate, I promise...  With my "new" computer up and running I pulled out a list that we "scrubbed" and started to make phone calls and send emails.  The phone calls were not very effective...  I got up with one person, out of like the 20 numbers I called, and that person was another real estate investor who is not interested in selling his property.  What he'll soon find out, however, is that he is going to receive mail from us, because he is on our direct mail campaign. :)  Maybe he'll change his mind down the road.

We'll see how the emails go.  A lot of them got bounced back because of bad addresses.  That's fine.  Any that go through have to help.  What we're trying to do is "touch" these contacts on 4 fronts. (1) direct mail (2) phone call (3) email (4) door knock (not too excited to do this).  I think that this campaign will work though.

Btw, I got out-bidded on one of the properties at the court...  The fights not over though.  The ARV is so high, that we have a lot of wiggle room. ;)
