Invest with ZEST! We are a local company that has been in business since 2018 and focused on providing quality full service management solutions for residential and multi-family properties in the Detroit market. We currently service over 300 properties and have a staff of 24 team members, all local and based out of our Southfield office. We take a very hands on approach with a local team combined with professional management software (Appfolio) to provide a full service investing experience for our clients.

Do not recommend. Made the mistake of renting a home from Zest sight unseen bec I was in diff city. There are pros of the home like location & unique features but management is not great. The house has some repairs tht would have been easy for them to do, like the railing to the basement fell from under a serviceman's hand, which should have been checked before move-in. They told me it has AC, AC does not work. Only a screen on 1 window, so I can't open the windows when it's hot either. My bedroom was 84 degrees one night & an ant was crawling on my neck. Worse, I admittedly made the oversight of not transferring water into my name, they didn't tell me until a couple of weeks ago & I had to "apply" to have that done through the city which I still haven't heard from either with an account number etc. Came home today, no water & the city said they had sent a letter warning shut off which must have gone to Zest but Zest did not tell me. Communication from Zest is extremely poor & slow (like more than a month) to respond to maintenance requests & now I just saw a Zillow listing for selling the property I'm living in! They do not seem to keep up w repairs, I don't know if that's just for their Detroit properties or if they are as bad in Oakland Co as well. Oh, & when I first got here there was a massive amount of garbage just left on the front curb that the city wouldn't pick up. Notice tht they responded w “call the city”, which I KNOW NOW, but it sure wld have been helpful for Zest to tell me tht they were sent a shut off notice! Oh & last year a car crashed in the yard & hit a brick partition & lamp, everyone in the neighborhood knows abt it but zest didn’t. There's a long wire from the lamp just sticking out of the lawn. There was a pile of rusty nails in the back when I moved in, and piles of charcoal briquets in the front & back close to the house. I can't set up a dryer in the basement bec the outlet is too dated. House was so dirty w rock salt when I moved in that even after cleaning the floors over & over I found pieces of it thru early May. They just sent me another message, "contact water & sewage". Thanks Zest, I already did. Funny how they have someone responding to bad reviews so quickly but not maintenance.

Anthony Bibbs came to my home and was extremely personable, professional, helpful and diligent in fixing my window seal. I would like him to do ALL my repairs.

DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY- they LIED and STOLE my security deposit.
When it was time for me to leave the house I was renting , the property manager I had emailed me stating that they were going to keep my security deposit for somethings that were already broken/ missing from the home that I didn’t notice until after I moved in. When I emailed the property manager back with proof of documentation that the damages that they were trying to charge me for was there before I moved into the home, they began to ignore my emails and phone calls . On top of that I did a month to month due to me needing extra time to find a new home - I was informed that my rent would only increase by $50 then when it was time to sign to new month to month lease they increased my rent by $200!!
And their maintenance sucks !! Left holes in the wall from something that they came to fix , never came back to fix it and then want to charge me for the repairs!!!
DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY !
SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE

My fiancé and I applied for a place and paid the application fee for a total of $100 non refundable. We haven’t heard anything back. We have reached out multiple times & didn’t even receive a hey you guys didn’t get approved or you did or anything! Just complete silence and take our money. I do think this isn’t professional. Times are hard and if someone paid their hard earned money for application at least you can do it give them the good and the bad news so that we can move along. We have left messages, emails and more. A lot of these places scam people just to get all of those non refundable fees kept in their payroll. The house we did the tour at is gone but they kept stating they have other properties if the one you applied for left before your application processed.
Update:
After leaving the review is when they reached out to advise of the letter with a denial. They only reached out because of the review i left today!

I just want to thank Zest Property Management. They came and fixed everything. This was a long job, but took care of it all. Specifically Ramal, Paul and Trey. Very polite, fast and respectful of my residence. They also completed the work well. Very knowledgeable! So happy about this maintenance request.
