Getting Started and Mentorship/Support

Daily post from an accredited newbie feeling overwhelmed in the process of finding and pulling the trigger on a first deal. I have started the research process and am interested in both the idea of an ever-growing real estate portfolio and passive investment through syndication.

Looking for mentorship, ideas/advice, and contacts from those succeeding at this so that a bad deal doesn't spoil my first leap. My wife is extremely risk-averse so making sure I develop a successful team is a MUST.

Where do you start vetting syndication groups in your area? Any reputable agents with proven success in taking newbies to the next phase?

Feeling very lucky to have this group as a place to begin!

Thanks in advance!!

You need to watch them for a period of time to see if they are meeting their goals. Talk to people that have invested with them. There are a few people on BP that run syndications and I find completely trustworthy. Look for J Scott, Brandon Turner, Paul Moore, Matt Faircloth, or Brian Burke.

AJ Osborne is not on BP but he has written a top-selling book on self storage investing and runs a syndication that is highly recommended by others.
