Moving to North Carolina from NJ, worth it?

Hey guys! John here from NJ. My family is planning on moving to Franklin County area (preferably Franklinton/Louisburg) in the coming months. This is a big move for us since it's our first out of state. We love NJ but it's time to go, this state is expensive with tons of competition. I will be transferring my RE license to NC and would love to connect with all professions in our great community. Also, would love to know where the REI meetups are. So, I've been reading and hearing about the market and future growth of NC. I don't even live there yet and I feel there's tons of opportunities. Am I wrong? also, how is everyone doing with fix-n-flipping in the areas mentioned above? Any other areas you suggest?

I recently moved here, and my friend in real estate development mentioned that their analytics indicate 120 people move to Raleigh each day. This data was from 2023, so I checked online and found that google says 70+ people move to the Triangle area daily in 2024. In my opinion, it’s a great location—centrally located between New York and Florida. It’s warm but not unbearable, and with little to no snow, it’s more desirable for people trying to escape those conditions. Home prices are high which is a good sign. Maybe not for early investors - but the market itself is desirable. Raleigh itself has seen a 27% increase in sales. The average time a home spends on the market is <30 days. We buy/sell 30-40 units per month. I'd be happy to connect and give you any information :)

NC is booming right now. Lots of growth, and lots of opportunity. I don't know those areas personally, but I can tell you that everything around me (Charlotte Metro), is exploding.

I think it's a great move. I am in NJ, too, but I will not stay here forever either. You can't transfer the license though, you will have to take the class and test again, but it will be easy. NJ does not have reciprocity with any states I don't think. Some make it easier though depending on how long you have been licensed.

From what I read, most people are moving into FL, TX, NC, SC and TN.In my opinion, the best weather conditions of the above 5 states is within NC / SC.Also, i think a lot of wealthy people are moving in NC.Best of luck with your move.
