About to sign a contract!

Deepak Wontakal
Posted

Hey BPers, my wife and I are about to sign a contract for a multi-family in the SA area.  I had a question about a few of the documents my agent sent me to sign.

1. Within the purchase contract, are there any specific criteria I need to call out (this is anew build, if that helps)

2. for the agent contract, it says they will be the exclusive agent - I get that makes sense in the context of this property, but can they make themselves the exclusive agent we have to work with across Texas?

Quote from @Deepak Wontakal:

My concern is that you're asking us these questions at all. The agent that signed those contracts has a legal and moral obligation to explain the contract to you, which would have answered your questions. I would go back to them and ask them to take the time to explain what you've signed until you are satisfied with the agreement.

The "exclusive" agreement means they will represent you on this purchase. It does not apply to any other purchases you intend to make.
