First-Time Flipper w/ Design Background
Hey everyone!
I’m 23 and just getting started in real estate investing. After years of saving, I bought my first home this January and am currently fixing it up myself to build equity. I’ve always been drawn to anything creative and hands-on, and I’m super passionate about flipping homes.
I have a background in architecture and interior design, and I currently work full-time at a home building company where I customize floor plans and do estimating. Between that and my eye for design, I think I’ve got a solid foundation for flipping.
My long-term goal is to flip a couple properties, then eventually move my focus into designing creative, themed short-term rentals through Airbnb etc. I love the idea of using flips to fund more design-focused, high-return rentals down the line.
I’m looking to connect with others, especially mentors or experienced investors who might be open to sharing advice, collaborating, or just helping me grow in the right direction. Happy to offer my interior design skills if anyone’s ever looking for that as well! (I’ve shared two of my school projects in my profile if anyone’s interested in checking them out.)
Excited to be part of this community and learn more from everyone here.
Thanks!

Congratulations on getting started in the real estate industry. You have a good niche with flipping, design, and Airbnb. If you combine all 3, you can stand out in a market. I flip houses and manage Airbnb properties myself. In times when flips are taking a while to sell, you can use your design skills for staging and significantly decrease your days on market time. I just sold a house in 30 days, where the average days on market was 90, simply by having it staged. You're going to crush it! Good luck to you!
