Forum stats question

I'm a little confused about how the Forum Stats/Leaderboard works. 5 minutes ago this was on my dashboard:

So I clicked on "Leaderboard" and saw this:

Obviously, the "Leaderboard" is not the list of those with the highest post score at a given time, so what is it?

This thing is funky. The more I post, the lower the score goes. I was on the leader board even for a minute, then posted myself right off of it. We had a strange influence system once before, and long discussion about it. BP may be better off without it. Just sayin'.

(come t think of it, I should have sent this in a PM instead of a forum post....I just dropped my score lower! Doh!!)
