Where to retire.... leaving CA!

Question

My parents just decided to sell their home in San Diego. They are going to buy a motorhome and then travel the US for a year. Where do you think they should land for their retirement? Im trying to convince them to end up in Nashville!

Do they have enough income where not having an income tax could almost pay for their housing? If so, Texas, Florida, and Nevada have a big leg up. Being from San Diego, Florida’s humidity might not be a problem. I know several people who moved from Vegas to Florida and they’ve all moved back. The humidity was killer to desert dwellers. Nevada and Arizona would be close proximity if there are people they want to come back and visit.

I like Arizona. Warm and dry weather, lower cost of living, and very scenic.

Nashville is a great place for sure. I would also recommend Arizona. No rain ever!

Answer what they like to do. Interests? I’ve lived in a lot of cold and northern states I’m over them. Yeah they’re scenic but -35 in winter can’t be good for anyone

No good way to answer. What is their primary goal? Financial legs? Climate? Recreation? Social similarity? Access to health care? No one place can be everything.
