HUD PCR Report Plumbing System Damage

I'm checking out a HUD home and the Property Condition Report states there is "Plumbing System & Drain System damage." The property failed a Pressure Test, and the plumbing is considered damaged. The sewer/septic system DID pass a water/antifreeze drain test, and it is considered functional.

What's the worst case scenario with damaged plumbing in a home (knowing the sewer/septic system is functional)? Thinking in terms of flooding, foundation issues that could void the deal.

Thanks!

Hi @Jessica Larkin

It could be anything from a bad washer in a faucet (.39 and 7 minutes of work) to someone ripped out all of the copper (Thousands at a minimum). A pressure test is a compressor setup and run through the system and you go hunt down the leak. It could be a faucet left on for that matter, the inspectors don't go chase it down, they just report it. So sadly I don;t have any good advice besides get it under contract (or just setup a showing before contract) and hunt it down.
