Investors who receive Appfolio reports from their PM

My PM uses Appfolio and sends P/L reports via that platform.  I have a hard time "following the money" and after discussing this with my PM company, was told that Appfolio can pretty much generate any report based on my liking.  I was going to create a template to show how I would like to see the financial information but decided to bring it to the forums first.  Does anyone else have a hard time following their Appfolio reports?  Has anyone customized those reports in a way that is easier to follow (i.e. doesn't require assumptions and/or Magnum PI - Tom Selleck version - on your team)?

My last PM and my new PM both used/ use Appfolio. I have had trouble a few times with payments or costs not showing up on monthly reports, but have not had problems understanding it. The way the reports are sent to me is with expenses and income listed and the running balance, then it shows the owners draw, which is the money sent to you. Then any balance left in the account which is carried over to the next month. I check them every month when I get them to make sure everything adds up.
