Why even invest in real estate property?

Sorry if this question is dumb, but I dont understand how your going to be able to spend the money from investing in real estate if you just using that money to pay off your loan you got to buy the property in the first place. And from what I gather people usually get 30 year loans so you don't profit till 30 years!? Can someone plz explain
