Come to our meetups! Lots of great mentors there.

You should househack your first property too

Sergio, Austin has a solid investor community if you start plugging into the right rooms.

I'd look for local REIA meetups, investor happy hours, hard money lender events, and wholesaler meetups around Austin/Round Rock.

I’m in Texas as well and always open to connecting with newer investors. Happy to point you toward a few good ways to start building your network and learning how deals are getting done locally.

I am interested as well. I am new to the REI world. Where and when do you guys have the meetups here in Austin?

Thanks for the great advice. I will definitely attend the events. I went to one last month hosted by Phill Grove, but I was not happy with what I experienced there. More than a meeting, it felt like a conference with a sales pitch included to attend the next VIP event. I did sign up for the event because it was only $100 for 2 people, but after reading a bunch of reviews about that type of event, I am kinda hessitant to attend. I am still planning on going, but mostly to connect with other investors and agents.

After attending one of their events, my son went with another group that was more investor oriented, less promo oriented.
