Business Plan Plagiarizing

I'm in the process of writing my real estate investment business plan and im using a few sample buiness plans as references. One of them created by J. Scott and a few more I googled. I only use them as a reference to learn how to set up my documents and to help me see what points needs to be adresded in a plan.

Since REI is no new phenomenon, allot of things seem repetitive. Also, if any one has ever read J. Scott's sample business plan you would agree that it is well stated... my question is when making a REI business plan do you treat it like a college paper and site it? what are some of the things you did for your first REI Business plan to get it ready to be presentable?

Thanks

My advise it to use others plans for ideas but to create your own plan.

I have a business plan which I created probably 6 years ago now. It was originally created to present to private money investors to show them my experience, goals, etc.

After completing the plan I now treat it like an operational plan. I update it once a year (right after taxes).

It has been a very valuable tool for self discovery and re-evaluating both strengths and weaknesses.

It has grown to over 50 pages and usually impresses the heck out of private money investors.

Remember the old saying..."Failing to plan is a failing plan".

Cheers
Gene
