Do you have Camera system at your rentals ?

Do you have external camera system at your rentals,if so how is your tenants approach to it? Are they concerned that you are interfering in  their privacy?

I have an external camera system on one of my LTR which is being rented by a single woman.  She has access to it via the app so she knows she's the only person with access to it.  She loves it and says that it makes her feel safer even though she's in a very safe neighborhood.  I think it clinched her decision to rent from me instead of others.

Let the tenants have access to it. Leave it installed since it is already there.

If you have cameras or any kind of recording device, it should be fully disclosed.

If you're using cameras on a long-term rental even when it's occupied, you're probably investing in the wrong neighborhood.

Even for short-term, you shouldn't have more than a camera in the front and back to watch the entrance for security purposes or to record check-in and check-out.

Yes. I use a Wyze security system on my 4 unit townhome property. The system runs off of Wi-Fi in one of the occupied units. I pay for the internet service and offer free internet to that tenant.    The system monitors the front and rear entrances only.    I am able to monitor live and recorded movement from my phone with no additional monthly fee.    I pay about $40/month for the internet.  It’s very useful to me because the property is an hour drive so I don’t visit it as often as the others.

@Jeyo Punnakottil it depends on the area. If it’s in a C or lower area then a lot of people do around here in case anything happens outside of the property for multi family buildings

This is  a LTR and was my primary home.I installed the cameras 2 yrs ago and all are hardwired.Should i pull it out before i lease it??or Just leave it alone ad it is hardwired and let disclose it to tenants.

@Nathan G. This was my primary home and i installed the camera which i got for a deal.The property is in a B class neighborhood.Its all hardwired cameras. All cameras are on the outside and nothing inside home.This is a single family long term rental.
