Tenants are radiosilent after renewal notice

Hey Maya,
You’re handling this exactly the way you should — solid documentation, clear deadline, multiple delivery methods. That’s textbook landlording. And yes, @Denise Supplee and @Greg Scott are correct, tenants going radio silent after a renewal notice is really common. A lot of them don’t want to commit or have already mentally moved on, so they just avoid the conversation altogether.
I definitely wouldn’t go knock on the door like Benjamin suggested. That can easily cross into liability territory — if they later claim they felt pressured or harassed, it becomes your problem, not theirs. You’ve already done your part in writing and through proper channels. At this point, it’s business — not personal.
And honestly, this might be a blessing in disguise. Inherited tenants rarely stay long once there’s new ownership — and when they do, they often turn into the type who test boundaries or drag their feet on communication (like you’re seeing now). Getting a clean slate with your own screened tenants can make life a lot easier.
So stay professional, stick to your November 1st deadline, and move forward with showings as planned. You’ve done everything right. If they suddenly decide to respond after the fact, fine — but otherwise, treat this as an opportunity to reset the property with a tenant who actually respects the process. Maya, I really hope this helps you a bit, I sent you DM on BP... it's one of the reasons I do this, I hope you can assist. Thank you in advance.
