curious on your thoughts about a tenant putting up trampoline
Hey so my tenant put on a large trampoline without my knowledge. I got a call from the neighbor that it's loud ... and also close to the fence which my neighbor feels is a little dangerous. My tenant is a good one. His kids use this trampoline a lot now that it's summer. I'm on the fence about making him take it down and welcome your thoughts. Thanks !

Liability, lawsuits, lawyers...blah, blah, blah.
Bicycles cause more injuries than trampolines. You could argue that more kids ride bikes than jump on trampolines but I don't think the difference is significant enough. Kids play, kids get hurt, kids heal. You can't round pad every corner in the world and create a generation of pansies.
Some will argue that you should put a disclaimer in your lease, indemnifying you from any injuries. I suppose that makes sense if you live in the People's Republik of Kalifornia. Where I live, judges don't hold Person A responsible for the decisions of Person B or the actions of Person B's children.
