What websites/data does Rentometer use for their rental comps?

Hey BP Family!

I am considering purchasing a Rentometer Pro account, but would love to hear other thoughts/opinions regarding the accuracy of it. I've been trying to do a little research to learn which websites they get their comps come from, but haven't been able to verify.

I live and work in the Utah market and the data seems reliable/accurate based off of my research & when I compare it. I've searched for a few homes on the Rentometer comps list, but it seems a little hit or miss as they are usually rented & I can't find the original listing to verify.

Any advice/insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

@Rhett Dean I agree! I was just hoping that it IS super reliable because the formatting looks great for sending to investors & is QUICK. It's been on sale for $100 yesterday & today (only...they say) is what motivated me a little more to find out! :)

In my experience rent-o-meter is a ballpark tool at best.  I quit using it, especially when it went to fee based model.

We have so many good places to get rents for an area between Rentler, trulia, Zillow, realtor.com apartments.com and face book pages I think purchasing a membership for the Salt Lake Area is not a need. I haven’t really used rentometer, maybe it’s awesome who knows how much are they asking for a membership?

I was wondering the same thing. I also get a hit or miss feeling sometimes when I use it. Usually the results are accurate but sometimes they seem a bit off.

The other day I did some analysis on my own before using rentometer, and the difference between the current available comps and the rentometer results were off by $300.

Having said that, I have not been using it for long so I cannot say with certainty if it’s worth buying the pro version.
