What is the most durable faucet

Question

My tenant has a leaky faucet. I want to replace it. I would rather have something life proof instead of good looking. If there’s a happy medium that would be nice.

What is the most durable faucet?

I see nice ones for $70 but those can’t be good. I also see real basic ones that only come in chrome for $50. Where is the in between.

I have them at home where I can wait for parts (it really is free).  Don't really care at the rentals...residents and plumbers are not going to wait for free replacement parts to be mailed.

I always use the Delta single handle faucets in both kitchens and baths. I've had good service out of them, parts are readily available everywhere and they're easy to work on. In my own home I've got 10 of them. 2 I've put rubber seals in and the others are original to the date of construction 2001. They're not that expensive and I think are worth a bit more than the cheapest non branded faucets out there...

Many people like Moen products.

They are used in some "Tough area" Housing projects where residents can be hard on interiors.

You will not find a lifetime no maintenance faucet. Local water hardness has an effect on cartridge life.

Ceramic cartridges may last longer.

If it's a real tough crowd you're renting too, this might be an option (they might be very used to it).

I’m in the same camp as John Teachout. Delta is my favorite and the easiest to find parts at Menards or big box stores. Like Moen, lifetime warranty. Just call em up and they send ya the cartridge. I keep extra cartridges on hand so the tenant doesn’t have to wait. They have never asked me to send the damaged cartridge back. I’ve tried the “plumber” faucet and they were not worth the price. Better to provide your own faucet if you can. However, plumbers have access to specialty faucets if you need a weird one.

I’ve never spent more than $30 for a faucet and in 23 years have never replaced one that i purchased.

There are two schools of thought on this, I've had plumbers (that sell the products) tell me how great moen are and how they have a lifetime warranty and how the parts are always available. However, the faucets they have are usually super expensive and really ugly and I've never had all that much luck getting anyone to honor a warranty and I sure can't afford to have licensed plumbers out there to fix a leaky faucet. So I've pretty good luck with the other option: I buy cute, inexpensive ceramic cartridge faucets off ebay or amazon or on sale at a box store-- the ceramic cartridges are relatively trouble free and when the finish is shot I"ll just get a new one.
