Background check for dependents

This can be overkill but how do you make sure the prospective tenant’s teenage children do not have criminal background? Do y’all run criminal background check on the children? If so do you correct the application fee? Thank you.

I run a background check on anyone 18 years or older. If mom and dad pay the bills while their 19-year-old lives with them and goes to college, I still run a credit/criminal on the kid to ensure he's not a drug dealer, sex offender, or whatever.
