Direct booking invoice / receipt

Hi. After 2 1/2 years running my STR I received my first direct booking. They paid a deposit yesterday. I feel like I should send them a receipt or invoice. Anyone else do this? Or just an email confirmation? Anyone have a template they are willing to share? I use Stessa. Suppose QP would likely have something but not sure of Stessa. TIA
