The new new guy from San Diego, CA

Hey everybody,

I have zero experience in real estate so far. I am starting to look in my area for a small fixer upper that I can do myself. I have a lengthy background in construction that has given me some pretty good knowhow on most renovation work. I am leaving the construction industry to pursue my dream of being a firefighter and am really hoping having a rental property can help ease the financial pressures for my family until I reach my goal.

Welcome to BP @Levi Gardner ! I agree with what @John Van Uytven said and I also recommend checking out the BiggerPockets podcast. It has been incredibly educational for me.

Best of luck pursuing your firefighter dream and real estate investment!
