Newbie from Bakersfield California

Hi.  My name is Tom Allard from Bakersfield California.  My wife and I have not invested in real estate other than owning our own house.  We are getting to the point in our life where we need to give our "retirement fund" a real shot in the arm if I am ever to retire.  I just attended a real estate conference in Bakersfield and decided I did not want to barrow an enormous amount of money to attend an advanced training.  I found this forum when I was searching for a real estate investment club in my area.  I am still looking for that club.  I found one but the website says they are not accepting new members.  I met another couple at the 3 day Bakersfield conference and we are going to work together to learn new strategies in real estate investing.  I would like to find a "local" Real Estate Investment Club that My friend Mark and I could attend.  I can't wait to learn from seasoned investors.

There is syndication company that calls themselves a "club" which seems a bit misleading.  But the FIBI group is the real deal.  I live pretty far away so I have only been to two meetings, but both were worthwhile.
