Seattle newbie- Closed today!
Hi all!
I'm Mallory, originally from the Twin Cities. After teaching abroad/travelling for a few years, I'm now settling in Seattle (Lake Forest Park). I found BP via the podcast which I listen to voraciously!
I'm posting my intro today to celebrate closing on my first primary SFR! I may house hack and rent out a room, and I'll definitely add value via a carport-to-garage conversion and bathroom/kitchen remodels. This is a buy-and-hold, on a big lot... I'm most excited about the land! Will rent it out once I'm ready to move on.
How exciting to be building my own wealth and working toward financial freedom- thanks BP for the inspiration! I'm currently grinding 50+ hours a week as a nanny/household manager saving for my next down payment. My next goal is to buy a BRRR SFR/duplex in the PNW (maybe Renton, Auburn, or... where are some other cities with good cash-flow potential on the MLS?) or a turn-key duplex out of state.
Seattle area folks, which groups/REIAs/events are your favorites? I joined the PacificNW Real Estate Meetup group- looking forward to meeting some of you soon!
