Kitchen Countertop conundrum

Hey everyone,

I am just starting my journey in REI. We purchased ou first home in 2018 and always got it with the intention that in 3-5 years we will be moving to a different house and this will be a rental property. We are located in a B+section of an an A+ neighborhood in central CT. Our realtor advised us that rent in today's market would be between 3500-4000.

The house has a big kitchen which we are now trying to upgrade. I am looking for recommendations on countertops. I've never rented a house so it's new to me (always rented small apartments).

At this price point does it make sense to pit in a higher class quartz or go with something like granite? Would anything else be acceptable (below granite).

We are using an ikea butcher block in the laundry so its not like we are going crazy. I think as a first home it also clouds judgement so I appreciate any advise.

Thank you!

It sounds like this is a high end rental, but I would agree with Troy and Will that you have to look at the rental comparables in the area.  Quartz is in demand right now, just as much as granite. So, I think you would be fine with either of them.
