Thank you everyone. I understand the concept at least and the way we have the kitchen I think quartz would go better. Will try to do a reasonable upgrade.

@willbarnard and @troydelong, our house is in no way high end. The reason why I think there is rent like this, is due to the severe lack of SFH (>3000sqft) on rentals available in our town and even surrounding us. Yes there are apartments and condos(and these are smaller <2000SF) available but almost no SFH.

I thought about what I would expect when I pay 3.5k a month and I def would want something like quartz but I'm a deal hunter and want the best possible in the price.

Hey everyone,

I am just starting my journey in REI. We purchased ou first home in 2018 and always got it with the intention that in 3-5 years we will be moving to a different house and this will be a rental property. We are located in a B+section of an an A+ neighborhood in central CT. Our realtor advised us that rent in today's market would be between 3500-4000.

The house has a big kitchen which we are now trying to upgrade. I am looking for recommendations on countertops. I've never rented a house so it's new to me (always rented small apartments).

At this price point does it make sense to pit in a higher class quartz or go with something like granite? Would anything else be acceptable (below granite).

We are using an ikea butcher block in the laundry so its not like we are going crazy. I think as a first home it also clouds judgement so I appreciate any advise.

Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Great community and a wealth of knowledge. I am looking to connect with investors in the Farmington Valley area.

Thank you!
