Contractors Contract vs Independent Contractor Agreement

Hey gang...just curious on your thoughts here.

The contractor I am considering using to renovate my new rental property has provided his own contract to use. Nothing complex and pretty straightforward.

I however have modified the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) included with J Scott's Flipping Book and had it reviewed by my attorney to have a contractor execute.

Do we sign both? Do I tell the contractor I want to use my agreement instead of his?

Thanks for your thoughts and assistance!

Have your lawyer take a look at his if you are uncomfortable with it.  They are fairly standard here in New Jersey.  However, one thing an attorney told me a long time ago, is that when a Judge or arbitrator reviews a contract they will always favor the party that did not write the contract in areas that are not crystal clear.  So if it is fair then you are better off signing the contractors.
