What key-pad locks do you use?

Hi all,

I want to eliminate having bunch of keys for every property and put key-pad deadbolts on every unit and entry doors to buildings.

All electronic key-pad locks look like a good option. However, I’m not sure how to go about batteries change and how often that would need to be done. Also if battery dies and tenants cannot get in the building or their apartment is another big issue.

What kind of locks do you use and how does it work for you with the batteries change (service locks if needed) etc.?

I wanted a deadbolt lock for my own home that would close automatically as my kids came and went, and got the Kwikset. But the damn motorized thing was so noisy I we stopped using it. We went back to the mechanical pushbutton Codelock latch, but it's not as secure as a deadbolt.  I'm not currently tempted to change from the Smartkey to programmable for my rentals.
