Flipping in South Bend

Hi everyone,

I would like to get some advice and here some stories about flipping houses in South Bend, Indiana and Northwest Indiana in general. I am in the process of getting my real estate license mainly in order to get access to the MLS so that I can really see what is happening out here. I am looking to really understand this market.

What drives it?

Who is moving here?

Is this a good market to flip or buy and hold in?

Are there a lot of wholesalers here?

I would like to exchange ideas with anyone who lives here or has done or is doing business here.

Hi All, Did any of you rent to ND students?  I know the school has built up around its property with the ice skating rink and Eddy Street Commons.  I wonder if land has any value there to build SFHs or if buying a house to rent in the area is worth it.

The off campus housing was sketchy.I do remember that there were a lot of safety issues with students living off-campus in 2009.
