RM1 Use registration permit plans question

Ahmed Alkaysi
Posted

Hey, I have looking to convert a zoned RM1 single-family to a multi-family and understand that I would need to complete a Use Registration application.

Question: Do I need to include the existing floor plans with the application, or just the plans of the changes? (include both before and after floor plans?)

Thanks

@Ahmed Alkaysi

You will absolutely have to file the plan when applying for a use permit increasing number of dwelling units. I recently went through this process. They require 6! copies of the plans. Good thing is that you can use the same plans that you'd be using for the building permits.

Here is the link where you can read the requirements.  https://business.phila.gov/media/permit.checklist.zoning.use-registration-02.2016.pdf

You can also go to L&I and talk to them before applying foe anything. And if you converting to 3 units or more they may have you install fire suppression system (sprinkler system) that may be very costly.

Cheers,

Yuriy
