Spokane rental market

I'm an investor in Tacoma, WA but have some friends moving to Spokane and considering buying a home to rent. I wondered if anyone has experience with the rental market there? How easy is it to rent a home? I know in Tacoma right now they are renting quickly. A quick craigslist search for Spokane suggested a 3/1 might rent for $800-1000 but it seemed to me there is a lot of inventory.

@Peter Grote, I only have rentals in Coeur d'Alene, just across the Idaho state border, but really a very different market. I just spoke with a potential property manager in Spokane today, and just using Craigslist at Postlets, he gets stuff rented immediately. Even 1/1's get filled in two weeks, he tells me.

I'll send you a direct message about the wholesale 3/1.
