Property Management - Is 200 doors per PM a lot?

We just vetted a company for property management that mentioned each PM has a book up to 200 doors. This seems like a LOT but I have no context.

Can BP provide any insights?

200 is too many, but there are other factors to consider. Do they have a leasing agent handling marketing and screening? Do they have a maintenance coordinator handling all the maintenance calls? Do they have administrative support locally or through virtual assistants?

Generally, one PM can handle around 100 doors. But if they have support staff helping them, they can certainly handle more. I was running 150 doors before I hired an administrative assistant. When I hit 300, I had an administrative assistant and a second property manager. Now I'm at 400 doors and 350 storage units, but  have an administrative assistant and five property managers.

There are too many variables to answer the question.
