Are wholesaling courses worth the money?

I'm looking to get into wholesaling. Now obviously there are quite a few people out there that have youtube channels revolving around wholesaling etc and dedicate their whole online brand to teaching this. I personally follow Khang Le with Wholesale To Millions and know of some others like Jerry Norton, Cody Sperber, etc. I've been looking into some of their courses and just wonder if you guys think the courses are worth the money or if you think the money would be better spent elsewhere such as group events, masterminds etc. Just want to hear your thoughts!

Your money would be better spent saving up for actually buying something. Most of these courses are a way of filching the uneducated out of their money. If you could make tons of money wholesaling why would you bother wasting your time teaching your competitors to do it for a couple hundred bucks?

In my opinion, no. Use that money to get your license. Start making offers on the MLS. Use the MLS to find cash buyers. Call agents, call buyers, learn by doing.

They can teach you quite a bit, I'm not knocking them, but I learned everything I needed to know on the internet (a lot if info for free!) then just networked by butt off and learned a lot from experienced wholesalers I met. Grow your buyer's list and just get out there and start doing!

I believe only some one who has more money then brains would pay some one to teach them how to wholesale. As Will and JD said, they are gurus who teach illegal and unethical ways to wholesale. Just trying to sell a product or some sort of hardware. Which give wholesalers a bad name. I've learned simply by watching U Tube, here on BP and hands on experience. The concept of wholesaling is simple. But first learn the right way to wholesale, the ethical and legal way, without stealing money from others or making false statements or promises. The only difficult part of wholesaling is locating discounted properties and end buyers. By the way, DO NOT draw up a contract without an end buyer on the back burner.

@Max McCuddy you absolutely don't need a course, it really depends on the person, but some are very helpful. For example, are you the kind of person where, if you invested a few/several thousand in a course, that'd you'd be motivated to the point of not failing because of that skin in the game?Or do you think you have the self-motivation needed to succeed without this initial investment? Personally, I am the latter. However, once I started making good money in wholesaling/investing I did invest $30k+ in several courses, which may sound insane, but I've gotten way more than that back in tangible money, in addition to building lasting relationships and gaining TONS of extra knowledge. If you're curious, my favorite course is Pace Morby's simply because of the amazing community - it isn't the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

You will learn a lot but they can be expensive. I just networked, went to a lot of events and asked a lot of questions. Spent my money on lead gen and securing my first deal.

Yes, these courses are all great . . . for the seller of the course and their bank accounts. No risk and easy money. For you, well that’s a different story.

Wholesaling has very simple components. Essentially you need to know about marketing. You also need to know your local market and then you need to know how to properly and legally structure and perform the transaction. Lastly, finding your cash buyers which is the easiest and most simple of the tasks. Most gurus promote their programs and deliver bad or illegal advice on how to, so be careful depending on your state laws.
