Quaint and Artsy Southwest Florida Real Estate

Normal 1530872067 Quaint And Artsy Southwest Florida Real Estate

Throughout Florida, there are a number of sleepy coastal towns that are quaint, cute, and full of local arts. Whether you’re a snowbird or a resident looking for your first home, these spots offer affordable Southwest Florida real estate, but with something extra.

The fact of the matter is that these areas are also fun, interesting, and often, not far from the water. In many cases, they represent enjoyable local towns that have retained their character over the years. But really, the cost-effective real estate is also a big plus.

So, this week, we’re taking a look at 4 of these spots; each with their own charm.

Matlacha

Nestled between Pine Island and Northern Cape Coral is an area you might not have heard about. And that spot is Matlacha. This is one of my favorite little coastal towns for quaint and artsy. One of the reasons is that it’s not yet very well known, but also because it’s incredibly cute and fun. Plus, the real estate remains affordable considering much of it is right on the water. But the big secret is that you can often find lots at outrageously cost-effective prices for the area. And if you’re looking to get away from it all, but with something a bit funkier, this one is for you.

Village of the Arts

Speaking of funky…set a few minutes further from the beaches, the Village of the Arts in Bradenton is Southwest Florida’s own arts community. Started as something of a city project, this area has become a beacon for people with a creative flair. And the SWFL real estate is amazingly affordable, especially if you’re accustomed to New York City or San Francisco prices. What I love best about this quaint community is that it has the right mix of everything, and you’re not far from the beaches. In addition, the entertainment of Sarasota is just a quick hop away.

Ana Maria

A little more subdued than the other two spots we’ve looked at, Ana Maria has its own charm. Now, the Southwest Florida real estate is in a slightly higher category for this island. And that’s mostly because the inventory is far more limited. But when it comes to quaint and beachside, you can have your pick of something truly spectacular at prices you wouldn’t believe. This island community is also a bit off the radar, so if you’re thinking about a vacation home or a property throughout the year, you can bet that the crowds haven’t yet discovered this gem.

Saint Armand’s

Finally, let’s look at a sleepy coastal town that’s even a touch more upmarket. Saint Armand’s is the center for shopping, eating, and real estate. I love this tiny town and its history. As you walk the streets, taking in the age-old statues that Ringling himself put in, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the magic of its character. Yet, the shops and food stops have remained local and with a distinct SWFL feel.
