Living in Southwest Florida: Outdoor Amenities

Normal 1531320077 Living In Southwest Florida Outdoor Amenities

We’ve seen how Southwest Florida is an area that’s rich in amenities. From a growing dining scene to wonderful arts. Our area isn’t just one of the most affordable places to live in the country, you may be surprised to find out that there’s plenty to do at the same time!

So, I thought it would be a great idea to put together a series for all of you that highlights some of our best amenities. This way, whether you’re in the market to buy a Southwest Florida home or you’re just interested in visiting, you have a go-to guide from an expert team that knows the area well.

Of course, one of the best places to start is with our outdoor amenities. A great deal of our state remains wild and it’s very easy to find activities that get you outside and enjoying nature in no time. Here are just a few we’d love to recommend for you to check out!

The Local Parks

From Myakka State Park to JN Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Southwest Florida has its own fair share of parks. And we’re not talking just any parks. These are spots where you can see wildlife, stunning views, and more.

The Area GreenWays

From the Great Florida Birding Trail to Sanibel’s bike paths, Southwest Florida has more than just parks. We also have a number of greenways and much more in the works. These offer activities like running, biking, birding, or just enjoying a stroll.

The Natural Resources

On that note, we have to mention the activities in areas like the Everglades and the Ten Thousand Islands. Now, these outdoor areas are a bit wilder than our previous two. But if you enjoy true backcountry camping or kayaking, these may be for you.

The Cultural and Historic Sites

Whether it’s Historic Spanish Point or the gardens at the Edison and Ford Estate, our area has a number of cultural and historic sites that are invaluable. Many of them aren’t as well known, which means you can beat the crowds and have an excellent time in the process.

The Fishing Holes

You can probably imagine that Southwest Florida has some good fishing spots. But the reality is, the entire Gulf Coast is full of hidden fishing holes that attract countless sports fishers every single year. This is equally true whether you love freshwater or saltwater fishing… or both.

The Beaches

Finally, I have to mention our beaches, not just because they’re some of the best in the entire world. The fact of the matter is that there’s more to our beaches than just lounging in the sun. Windsurfing, boogie boarding, treasure hunting. You can even enter sand castle building contests!

Are you considering a property in Southwest Florida and do you love the outdoors? Send me an email, and I’d be happy to help you find your next dream home in the area!
