Holiday Activities for You to Enjoy at Home

During the holidays, it’s a magical time for just about any homeowner. After all, this is that special time of year that you can throw holiday parties, bring the family together, and much, much more. One of my favorite parts of this time of year is just how much you get to enjoy your Southwest Florida home.

Of course, we get the best of both worlds here in our slice of paradise. While the weather is warm enough to appreciate all our outdoor amenities, there’s still plenty of cooler weather to put us in the holiday spirit. And with this list of holiday activities, you’ll be feeling the holiday cheer around your home in no time!

Spend the day baking treats

What better way to enjoy your Southwest Florida home, or a home just about anywhere, than by filling it with sweet, delicious smells? From cookies to pies, this is that time of year where you can really indulge a little. Still, many people enjoy the relaxation of baking in a kitchen you love. There’s just something calming about sweets and good things to eat.

Invite friends over for holiday cocktails

Craft cocktails, holiday music, and friends. What more can you ask for during this time of year? If you’re feeling particularly creative, you could even send out formal invites. Even if it’s just an attractive email, it’s another way to put everyone in the mood and get them ready to enjoy your home!

Turn up the radio and sing your heart out

Speaking of holiday music and friends, it might sound a little cheesy, but I know so many people appreciate singing during the holidays. There’s simply something uplifting about the whole activity, especially when you do it with friends and family around the house.

Add those last minute decorative touches

But even with the holidays here, you can still take time to continue decorating your home, in Southwest Florida or around the country. A paper snowflake here, a new candle there. Nothing says you can’t keep experiencing joy from this activity right up until the day of the new year!

Tell holiday stories of years past

Telling stories is a holiday pastime that I know my family loves. Doing so seems to bring our home that extra special sense of warmth that only good memories can bring. And best of all, you don’t even need anything for this holiday activity around your home, other than great friends and family and your memories.
