The Most Useful Apps for Real Estate Investors

I’m not going to lie. I don’t describe myself as a tech-savvy person. However, I am always using apps that have helped me increase my productivity. Technology, after all, offers something for everyone, especially real estate investors. One thing’s for sure, investors need to constantly keep themselves up to speed on the newest tools.

It’s because of this reason that I am always excited to learn about a new app. The great thing about this is that technology just keeps getting better. Even as my workload gets heavier, I can still get by using these tools. These work really great when I am trying to close deals on multifamily properties and engaging my current investors.

Let me share with you the apps I use. Maybe you can find time to adopt them for your own real estate venture.

Zoom

The best thing about video conferencing is that it lets you hold meetings wherever you are. With apps like Skype and Facetime, a real estate professional can talk to brokers and lawyers from the comfort of their home or while they are jogging around a track oval.

If you ask me, though, I would prefer using Zoom. Just like Skype and Facetime, Zoom allows me to conduct video teleconferencing sessions with my staff and business partners. The only difference is that I find Zoom to be more effective quality-wise, which makes it seem like I’m talking to my audience in-person! It also allows me to present spreadsheets and record meetings in real-time. It’s an app I would often use to make videos which I can then send to my students as well as to people who I think will find them useful.

Dropbox

Productivity has always been an important concept for me. I often hear a lot of people ask me, “How are you able to stay productive despite your busy schedule?” To be honest, it’s very easy to become effective if you manage to leverage apps that can help you get a lot of work done.

When it comes down to processing the documents I need to conduct due diligence and apply for LLC status, Dropbox has always been my favorite. Once you and your staff install Dropbox in your computers, you can easily share files in real-time. Anyone who has the proper credentials can easily access folders, and they can update files just as well. The best part about Dropbox is its security. It uses a complex security system to make sure your files are kept safe from unwanted breaches.

Trello

In terms of workflow, it’s always important that everyone in your time knows what they should be doing for the week. You also need a place where everyone can share files and be informed of the tasks they should be handling.

Thanks to Trello, I am able to manage the responsibilities of my staff without any trouble. The app allows me to delegate tasks to the right people by adding task-lists as well as sub-lists. But that’s not the most interesting part. Trello allows me to include checkboxes to task lists, along with a “completion gauge” that helps you track the progress of a task based on the number of completed sub-tasks. Sure enough, this allows for greater transparency as I would a good view of the productive work my staff and I put in.

Slack

This is also a great app for increasing the productivity of your investing team. Using Slack, you can initiate conversations with the members of your team. Sounds basic? Well, the beauty behind Slack is the fact that it allows you to create channels where people who work on the same tasks and projects can collaborate.

Other features include video conferencing and file-sharing so that you can keep your staff up to date on what’s being done so far.

When it comes down to e-signing important documents and filling out forms, you will need an app that’s perfect for contracts or just about any type of paperwork that needs your initials.
