How Are Your Tenants That Hoard Doing?
Perhaps the ones that were having routine inspections?
The folks that were doing well because they had someone holding them accountable for keeping their space somewhat safe & able to navigate throughout their space.
In recent times, it has been difficult to do a walk through and its important to consider what you will do when you or your property manager has the opportunity to do routine inspections again.
What will you do when your property manager lets you know there is a problem in one of your units?
Consider that addressing it quickly and early on can help mitigate bigger issues down the line. If you choose to shove it aside with the thought, “It’s not that bad” be prepared to encounter a potential large issue at some point.
If you are told there is a problem with your ASSET it isn’t helpful to you or your tenant if you put it off or employ any aspect of the “I hope it will just go away” method.
Hoarding can lead to a lot of issues that can literally destroy your investment. From mold, to rodents and structural damage, hoarding can be very expensive to remedy.
Starting with kindness and safety can go a long way in starting the conversation on what needs to happen to resolve these types of issues.
Don’t delay on addressing the problems when you see them. Create a mitigation plan before it gets out of hand.
I am happy to connect - you don't have to navigate this alone!
